SUMMARY:
Rehabilitation of the historic World’s Wonder View Tower including structural repairs, mechanical system upgrades, electrical upgrades, plumbing upgrades and ADA architectural improvements. Scope of work also includes changes to the residential space with reconfiguring sleeping quarters, kitchen and bathroom areas.
Wonderview Tower is a historic “road-side” attraction in the eastern Colorado town of Genoa. Spectrum General Contractors was engaged early in the development of the project to generate a budget based on a “Task List” for attain a grant from the State Historic Fund. This budget “task list” was used by the developers and consultants to generate plans that met the owners expectations yet fulfilled the required design needs to bring a failing structure back to it’s former glory. With our ability to step into the project early we were able to identify issues and risks with drainage that was the root cause of the structural issues and rebuild the affected areas as opposed to demolition. Budgets were developed throughout the process that defined work within different categories; “Critical Deficiencies”, “Minor Deficiencies”, and “Discretionary Repair Work”. By providing these budgets, the owner was able to prioritize the work to ensure the future of Wonderview Tower.
